We thought we would like to keep you up to date on the "goings on" in the hospital. As you can imagine this will not be updated each month, but only when we think we have something of interest that has happened to us in the hospital or clinic. Our goal with Cats at Home is as always, to offer the highest quality care for your cat, ensuring a long and healthy life with you.
Your recommendations to friends and family who have feline companions is
greatly appreciated. With Wayne and Susan working together we are sure that
Cats at Home will now be able to offer our personalized service and
expertise to more kitties and their families. FOR SALE LASERCYTE HAEMATOLOGY ANALYSER

IN HOUSE ULTRASOUND
Now at Cats at Home. We have recently acquired a unit (HDI 3000) and can perform basic ultrasounds. We now also have Dr. L. Head (Board certified Radiologist/Ultrasound) to come to our hospital for diagnostic work.
IN HOSPITAL BLOOD TESTING Most of the blood tests performed on our patients are sent to the Tru-North Laboratory for Veterinarians which services the area. Turn around time is excellent but there are two situations where we really need faster results; preanesthetic testing and intensive/critical care patient monitoring. We are pleased to announce that our hospital has now upgraded our Blood Chemistry equipment to VetScan Analysis, equipment designed by NASA for their use. We can obtain valuable information on your cat's health within minutes to ensure optimal care. We also now have in hospital fecal analysis and urinalysis. New protocol guidelines set by the A.A.F.P. giving us more accurate and better results. BOARDING We have had lots of requests about boarding and so have decided to expand this area of our services. Boarding will be available to Cats at Home patients or patients from other hospitals with full health information. This restriction will protect our guests from exposure to infectious agents. ******* We now require ALL boarders to have received a rabies vaccine. The vaccines are every year with the Merial Purevax for cats or every 3 (three) years if using the older dog/cat rabies vaccine.
Cats at Home staff are all trained to provide high quality care and monitoring to any cat with ongoing health problems, such as diabetes or chronic renal disease. Obviously administering medication is our specialty so owners don't need to put off vacations for fear that their cat will suffer from their absence. Give us a call to enquire about rates or to arrange a visit.
